Exchange & networking
With our work in the Local Conflicts programme, we want to contribute to strengthening awareness and skills to deal with conflicts in a constructive way in local communities - even beyond the boundaries of our direct project work. This can only succeed if numerous stakeholders with different backgrounds, competences and perspectives interact effectively.
In addition to support services such as Local Conflict Counselling and training opportunities, networking between stakeholders at different levels of action is just as an important component for us. In this way, we create synergies, facilitate the exchange of experience and mutual learning and contribute to the development of long-term networks.
To this end, we organise various professional events that focus on different topics and target groups. For example, our annual Interkommunale Fachtagung brings together municipal stakeholders from all over Germany as well as representatives from various federal states, the police, civil society organisations and experts from the scientific community. The focus is on current challenges of dealing with conflicts in the municipal area and how to deal with them.
In addition, we particularly promote networking and dialogue between representatives at federal state level in order to offer municipalities the best possible framework conditions for dealing with conflicts.
As an international organisation, we are also interested in exchanging experiences in constructive conflict management at municipal level from different countries and thus learning from each other.
Our activities are implemented as part of the project ‘Kommunen im Fokus: Konflikte nutzen - Integration gestalten’. Information on the funding of the project can be found under ‘Sponsors’.
